1. Who this policy covers

This policy applies when you browse Big Adventure Map, contact us, apply to list a company, or use a BAM Business or platform-owner account. Big Adventure Map is responsible for the personal information it controls. An adventure company is separately responsible for information it collects when you contact or book with it.

2. Information we collect

We collect information you provide, such as your name, email address, account details, company information, customer and booking records entered into BAM Business, profile media and private compliance documents. We also process basic technical and security information such as IP address, browser information, session identifiers, login events and error records.

3. How we use information

We use personal information to provide and secure the website and BAM Business, operate accounts, process company applications, review listings and compliance documents, send service and account messages, answer support enquiries, prevent misuse and meet legal obligations. We rely on performance of a contract, legitimate interests, legal obligations or consent, depending on the activity.

4. Sharing and service providers

We share information only where needed to operate BAM, comply with law, protect people or services, or complete an action you request. This can include hosting, email, security, mapping and professional service providers acting under appropriate safeguards. Public company and activity information is visible to website visitors; private account, booking and compliance information is not published.

5. Google Maps content

Where a published company connects a Google Business Profile, BAM sends the saved Google place ID to Google Maps Platform to request current business details, ratings and review excerpts. BAM stores the place ID but does not copy Google rating or review content into its database. Google may process these service requests under the Google Privacy Policy . Reviewer names, avatars and review text are Google Maps content and are displayed with source attribution.

6. Retention and security

We keep information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes above, account administration, dispute handling and legal record keeping. Retention depends on the type of record and applicable obligations. We use access controls, session protection and other reasonable technical and organisational measures, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, request portability, withdraw consent and complain to a data protection authority. To exercise a right, email support@bigadventuremap.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting.
