Episcopal Palace in Astorga Self-Guided Audio Tour and Ticket

You will find yourself in one of the few buildings designed by Antonio Gaudí outside Catalonia. Its uniqueness can be seen from the outside, but you'll discover much more than beautiful architecture on the inside.

This is a magnificent neo-Gothic building, built with granite stone from Bierzo, with features of a castle, temple, and stately palace, surrounded by a moat.

Located on the route to Santiago de Compostela, the Palace houses the Museo de los Caminos, where you'll learn about the history of one of the oldest dioceses in Spain through an evocative art collection.

In the Low Level of the Palace, you will marvel at the vaults decorated with glazed ceramics as well as the capitals, the mesulones, and the curious stained glass windows.

Continuing your tour in the Basement of the Palace, you will discover epigraphic, numismatic, and lapidary collections. And on the First Floor, you will examine starry capitals that are like the capitals of the Sainte Chapelle in Paris and incredible stained glass windows.

Enjoy both the Palace with its magnificent architecture and the Museum with its unique religious heritage!
