Montserrat is a very unique multi-peaked Mountain range, only 1 hour drive from Barcelona. It’s composed of strikingly compact conglomerate, a form of sedimentary rock.
The climbing is usually pretty step with good holds, but we can also find low angle climbs and overhangs. There are so many needles and walls that all levels of climbing can be found here.
It is possible to practice all climbing disciplines: single pitch (sport or trad), multi-pitch (sport or trad), big wall… You will find routes from 10 to 500 meters, and all orientations.
All this, makes Montserrat a great climbing destination, plus it is possible to climb all year round.
